At Tomago Aluminium, we like helping those who help others and are proud to continually support hardworking charities through our Workplace Giving Fund.

We also like to give back in other ways and with December the season of goodwill our generous employees and contractors dug deep to support vulnerable families struggling over Christmas by donating kids bikes, skateboards, scooters, toys, clothes, food and so much more to Survivor’s R Us.

Founder of Survivor’s R Us, Ann-Maria Martin, was overwhelmed by the response from our employees and said there were a lot of very happy kids at Christmas thanks to all the toys and bikes etc. All the donated food items were made up into Christmas Hampers and were distributed to those in need.

A big shout out to one of our Contractors, Steve Bagnall from Instant Access who donated four beautiful hampers and four brand-new kids bikes!

In another show of goodwill, Tomago employees rostered on to work on Christmas day are always treated to a Christmas lunch, however many of the workforce chose to forfeit their lunch and asked the business to donate the money to Streetcare instead. Streecare were incredibly thankful for their $2,000 donation, which went a long way to feeding the homeless throughout the Christmas period.

A representative from Streetcare, Jodi Duffield said, “Wow this is so incredibly generous we thank you so very much. Streetcare and the vulnerable people of Newcastle thank you from the bottom of our hearts!”

The business also rewards every employee each year with a Christmas ham and pudding to thank them for their hard work. Every year all left-over hams and puddings are donated to charity, and this year we had the pleasure of donating over 30 hams and puddings to Soul Café and Oz Harvest to feed the homeless.

Every year our workforce and the business also donate significant funds to the Westpac Rescue Helicopter and four charities chosen by our employees through our award-winning Workplace Giving Fund.

With 72% of our workforce participating in our Workplace Giving Fund, this equated to $143,000 in 2021 and we are aiming to increase this further in 2022.

Our culture of giving back to the community we live in is something we, at Tomago Aluminium, are immensely proud of.
